CAD Services

We can, when required, convert 2D drawings into 3D models and vice versa. This is particularly useful when the only data which is available to manufacture legacy components are old drawings, in electronic or paper format.

We can undertake a full analysis of 3D models, to make sure they are suitable for 3D printing and machining, and offer advice on how to improve the model for manufacturability.

3D Modelling

Often, when a model is required of an assembly of parts, the CAD files can become very large and unwieldy. When a large model is scaled to a smaller size, walls can become too thin to build. This is not only true for engineering assemblies, but also for complex structures such as buildings, and other architectural models. Aben Europe has the 3D modelling capability to manipulate 3D CAD models so that the parts which are produced represent the intention of the designer. This reduces the work load of the client, and also helps to ensure that good models are made.

Nylon Pipe Clamp

3D printed version of a new pipe-clamp design. Supplied in-time for an exhibition (5-day lead time). Normal manufacturing involves machining mould masters for a large injection moulding system which takes several weeks. 3D printed in nylon (same as the production version) and finished in RAL colour matched paints, with hardware supplied by the client.
